A Financial Perspective on Decisions That Shape an Enterprise.
Jacqueline Moore, CPA, CMA
Founder | Essence Group
A consequential business decision deserves more than an attractive proposal.
It requires an understanding of the enterprise, the economics behind the alternatives and the long-term implications of the decision.
That is the perspective Jacqueline Moore brings to her work with established wealth teams and advisors.
From Corporate Finance to Wealth Management.
Jacqueline founded Essence Group in 2014 following a career in corporate finance and executive leadership, including service as a Chief Financial Officer.
As a CPA, CMA and former CFO, she developed a perspective grounded in financial analysis, business economics, operating structures and the decisions that influence enterprise value.
In 2022, Jacqueline began focusing her advisory work on the wealth management industry.
She recognized that established wealth practices face many of the same consequential decisions as other privately held enterprises: how to structure ownership, evaluate competing economic arrangements, fund growth, manage succession and preserve long-term value.
Yet these decisions are frequently presented through the narrow lens of a recruiting offer or platform transition.
Jacqueline believes the starting point should be the enterprise itself.
The Enterprise Comes First.
A wealth management practice is more than a book of business.
It represents years of client relationships, professional judgment, investment in people and accumulated economic value.
A decision to stay, move, become independent or pursue a strategic combination can affect far more than immediate compensation.
It can reshape ownership, operating flexibility, succession options and the future value of the enterprise.
Jacqueline's approach begins by understanding what the advisor or team has built, what they want to accomplish and what would need to improve enough to justify a change.
Only then does the evaluation of potential alternatives begin.
Financial Discipline. Human Judgment.
Financial analysis is essential, but it is not sufficient.
The right decision must also reflect the objectives of the people involved, the interests of clients and the practical realities of executing a change.
Jacqueline brings an analytical, commercially grounded perspective to conversations about:
Her role is to help clients understand the implications of their alternatives and make decisions with greater clarity.
The objective is not to produce a transition.
It is to determine whether a transition—or another strategic alternative—creates a meaningfully better outcome.
- Current and alternative economic arrangements
- Ownership and equity
- Platform and custodial relationships
- Enterprise value
- Partner alignment
- Growth and succession
- Strategic combinations
- Transition risk and execution
People Are the Essence.
Jacqueline founded Essence Group on the belief that people are central to the value of every enterprise.
In wealth management, that principle is particularly important.
The relationships between advisors, their clients, their teams and their business partners are fundamental to the enterprise they have built.
Essence Group combines financial perspective with an understanding of the human considerations behind consequential business decisions.
The firm operates as a boutique advisory practice, working directly with established wealth teams, advisors and wealth management leadership.
Before You Move the Enterprise, Know the Economics.
If you are considering a consequential decision about your practice, the first conversation should be about the enterprise you have built—not a destination someone wants you to choose.
